Once inside, get to the end of the tunnel to speak with Alexander and progress his quest. Then, light the Lost Grace, and head inside the boss room to fight the Magma Wyrm. Upon defeat, this boss drops Moonveil.

The other useful Spirit Ash is the Black Knife Tiche Ashes . Bosses have a difficult time hitting her, and her ranged attack drains health for a certain percentage. She can drain bosses for a stupid amount of damage if they leave her alone for too long. There are two main drawbacks to using her, though. The first is that she’s expensive to summon, requiring around 132 FP. The second is that she doesn’t draw aggro as often, so players will need to be more careful about avoiding hits. If she sounds useful, though, she can be obtained by defeating Alecto, Black Knife Ringleader in the Ringleader’s Evergaol in Liurnia (accessed by progressing Ranni’s questline ).

Alternatively, you can look on the world map for an orange-tinted cave icon on the border of Limgrave and Caelid. Most caves in Elden Ring with lots of crafting materials are highlighted with this symbol on the map.

Updated February 1, 2025 by Vlad Mazanko: The Shadow of the Erdtree expansion is known for its devastating bosses, including a challenging final encounter that can be difficult to overcome without a Greatshield and high Stamina to endure relentless attack chains and powerful AoE combos. As such, knowing which shields are the best in Elden Ring is crucial for tackling the game’s toughest batt

Crucible Hornshield : A disappointing Greatshield, the Crucible Hornshield looks incredible, but its functionality doesn’t really match. Though it can pack a punch as a weapon, its elemental damage negation and guard boost aren’t great, and don’t quite justify the lofty requirements. While it offers decent Holy resistance, the Crucible Hornshield falls short in almost every other area. With so many superior alternatives available, it remains more of an aesthetic choice for players who value style over funct

The best Sorceries to pair with the Moonveil katana are those that fill in the gaps for things the katana can’t do or complement the moveset in some way. For example, Magic Glintblade can be useful to Moonveil users as they can time their entrance into melee combat with the spell’s activation.

Just finished my first ever Calamity Infernum playthrough so here are my thoughts on the bosses ...The first of these is the Guide Statues. These statues resembling a creepy old woman can be found all over The Lands Between and they always point to a dungeon. If one is encountered, make sure to approach and check it. If there’s a button prompt, hit it and follow the ghostly trail of light that emerges; it’ll surely lead to a nearby dungeon. If no button prompt appears, then one can (usually) rest assured that they’ve already cleared the area’s most important hidden spot. Aside from the statues, it’s usually just good to just be extra thorough and look for hidden drops or not-so-obvious dips in a cliffside. Unexplained concentrations of enemies are also a good indicator.

Cuckoo Greatshield : The Cuckoo Greatshield is an excellent option for those looking to absorb some Magic damage , but unfortunately, it’s outshone by the Eclipse Crest Greatshield in just about every way. Still, this shield remains a great one for Magic and Holy defense if the player hasn’t found the Eclipse Crest yet. Another appealing aspect is its stunning design, which pairs seamlessly with many medium and heavy armor sets, allowing for a stylish and cohesive character appeara

Deeproot Depths: hangs out near the Nameless Eternal City grace. This one is also accessed by destroying the skulls on the top rather than on the feet. Do so by dropping down onto it from the roots above or shooting them with a bow.

Inverted Hawk Towershield : There’s nothing wrong with the Inverted Hawk Towershield, being another good shield across the board, and taking minimal effort to farm, but there’s also nothing too special about it, landing it on the B-tier of this list by default. Highlights of this Greatshild are its good Magic and Holy resistances. However, players should be prepared for an exceptionally low drop rate. Even with a Discovery of around 250, our experience suggests that farming for this unremarkable shield can take approximately 50 minu

As for weapon choice, the Eleonora’s Poleblade does well against single enemies, Continue Reading but struggles against groups; use the katana or spear for those. The spear does well against massive enemies with exploitable blindspots, such as dragons, but its weapon art leaves the user exposed to smaller enemies/bosses with a high stagger threshold. The katana is good overall, so it’ll probably be one’s weapon of choice more often than not. Its drawback is that it leaves the user exposed if it doesn’t either kill or stagger the target with the opening series of slashes. In short, consider the enemy’s strengths and weaknesses and choose accordingly. The same goes for the Ash summons and the tears used in the Wondrous Physick. This build isn’t a guaranteed win every time, but it should make many encounters go much more easily once one gets used to it. So, why not give it a shot?
