Aviator Glasses Sizing: My Experience

Aviator frames have a distinctive teardrop shape that requires different sizing considerations than standard rectangular frames.

• Teardrop lens shape
• Typically larger measurements

• Longer vertical lens height

My Size Choice

For aviator sunglasses, I use 58-14-140. This is larger than my regular 52-18-140 frames. Aviators need bigger lenses to achieve the classic look and provide proper sun coverage.

Bridge Width Difference

Aviators often have narrower bridges – my 14mm bridge works because of the double bridge design that distributes weight differently than single bridge frames.
