This area houses a lot of good items, such as a Golden Seed , some weapons, and even the final step of Iron Fist Alexander’s questline which will yield the powerful Shard of Alexander . Overall, it’s a lovely secret area with a small price for admission.
General Radahn’s armor is only unlockable after defeating the Starscourge, and his greatsword and bow can only be unlocked by trading in his Remembrance with Enia. To purchase the full Radahn armor set, speak with Enia after the battle to find each piece (head, chest, legs, hands) for sale. They are very heavy but very protective, so be sure you have points in Endurance to be able to dodge roll.
Elden Ring is a massive game, so chances are good that it’ll take more than one playthrough to see everything. Seeing as how starting new game plus in Elden Ring is as easy as resting at the Roundtable of Lost Grace and Fromsoftware roguelike selecting the “Begin Journey 2” option, it can be tempting to do so without making any preparations. Don’t do that. There are certain things that can only be done with most of the map accessible and most of the stores unlocked. If one wants to start new game plus on the best possible footing, there are a few steps that should be taken first.
The first supposed brick wall that players will face in Elden Ring is Margit, the Fell Omen , just waiting to ambush some poor ambitious fool just outside Stormveil Castle. Players will soon realize that they’ll need more levels one way or another if they are to defeat Margit without much frustrat
Players will need to be careful as they progress across the bridge toward the tower as they’ll be trapped in a dark arena by twin bosses , the Fell Twins. The arena for this boss fight is reminiscent of the Four Kings fight from Dark Souls , being an inky black void where you can only see your enemies and nothing else, but the fight is not particularly tough.
In the easternmost part of the Consecrated Snowfield, right at the frozen river , players can find the Cave of the Forlorn. The boss in this area is cheap since it’s just a reused Misbegotten Crusader enemy and the cave is also home to some reused Misbegotten enemies though one could argue that their being there is lore-friendly.
The other useful Spirit Ash is the Black Knife Tiche Ashes . Bosses have a difficult time hitting her, and her ranged attack drains health for a certain percentage. She can drain bosses for a stupid amount of damage if they leave her alone for too long. There are two main drawbacks to using her, though. The first is that she’s expensive to summon, requiring around 132 FP. The second is that she doesn’t draw aggro as often, so players will need to be more careful about avoiding hits. If she sounds useful, though, she can be obtained by defeating Alecto, Black Knife Ringleader in the Ringleader’s Evergaol in Liurnia (accessed by progressing Ranni’s questline ).
It might not look like it, but Elden Ring is also a resource-management game. The most valuable resource, of course, is that red HP bar that needs to be spent wisely in boss fights. What other resources need careful consideration before splurging? Keys. Stonesword Keys , in particular. Opening locked passages that require Stonesword Keys is like a box of chocolates, players never know what they’re getting.
There are two different Mohgs in Elden Ring : one can be found below Leyndell, in the Shunning Grounds barring a secret entrance to the Deeproot Depths, and one can be found atop Mohgwyn Palace, an endgame area devoted to the Formless Mother and the Mohgwyn Dynasty. The Shunning Grounds version of Mohg is actually a Shade, while the real version – the one that drops Mohg’s Great Rune – is found in Mohgwyn Palace.
As for weapon choice, the Eleonora’s Poleblade does well against single enemies, but struggles against groups; use the katana or spear for those. The spear does well against massive enemies with exploitable blindspots, such as dragons, but its weapon art leaves the user exposed to smaller enemies/bosses with a high stagger threshold. The katana is good overall, so it’ll probably be one’s weapon of choice more often than not. Its drawback is that it leaves the user exposed if it doesn’t either kill or stagger the target with the opening series of slashes. In short, consider the enemy’s strengths and weaknesses and choose accordingly. The same goes for the Ash summons and the tears used in the Wondrous Physick. This build isn’t a guaranteed win every time, but it should make many encounters go much more easily once one gets used to it. So, why not give it a shot?
Night’s Cavalry appear depending on the time of day too, but they’re always seen at night. All of them either drop their signature armor/weapons or valuable Ashes of War like the Bloodhounds Step. The final two Night’s Cavalry encountered in Consecrated Snowfield even leave an extra Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone for players who manage to defeat them. The ten Night’s Cavalry can be found in the following spots:
